(Back in 2007, when I last visited Bulgaria, nobody would want to drive mountain roads at night; it used to be too dangerous!)
(This fuel station is named after the famous Makaza mountain pass that Bulgaria wanted to reopen from 1991, but Greece insisted to keep this road closed till 2013, out of fear that Bulgaria would send their military into Greece and occupy the Greek part of Trakiya/Thrace, just like Bulgaria did in 1912:
